September 21, 2010 – Birmingham, AL – Honours Golf Company is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the City of Montgomery, Ala., to manage Lagoon Park Golf Course and Gateway Golf Course.
Lagoon Park Golf Course is an 18-hole, 6,773-yard golf course designed by Charles M. Graves & Associates. The golf course is part of a multi-purpose sports facility complete with a soft ball complex, tennis center and onsite lodge. Originally built in 1978 on reclaimed land, it features a challenging layout with tree-lined fairways, medium to large sized greens and more than 30 bunkers throughout the parkland style golf course. Lagoon Park has been nationally recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top public courses in the country, as well as hosted the Alabama Open and the University of Alabama’s Blue Gray Intercollegiate tournament.
Gateway Golf Course is the newer of the two municipal golf courses. Built in 2006, it features a 5,862 yard nine-hole layout and full service clubhouse. In addition, the golf course is home to the First Tee of Montgomery. The golf course is conveniently located off of Interstate I-65 and within an easy driving distance of Lagoon Park.

Honours Golf will manage the entire golf, course maintenance, and food and beverage operations for both city-owned golf courses beginning October 1, 2010.
