(Londonderry, New Hampshire) – Renowned Danish shoemaker ECCO announces the extension of its endorsement agreement with international Tour star Thongchai Jaidee, who will compete in the brand’s new BIOM Golf footwear and continue to showcase the company’s logo on his shirt collar.
The 40-year-old native of Thailand, currently ranked No. 73 in the official world golf rankings, will also be featured in various ECCO marketing initiatives.
Jaidee has five European Tour top-10s this season, highlighted by a third place finish at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and fifth place finish at the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship. A three-time winner of the Asian Tour Order of Merit, Jaidee was the first Thai player to win a European Tour event and the first player of any nationality to surpass US $2 million in career Asian Tour earnings.
“Thongchai is one Asia’s most popular players and has been a great ECCO ambassador for many years,” says Jesper Thuen, Sponsor and Event Manager, ECCO Golf. “He continues to perform at remarkably high level and we’re excited to have him compete in BIOM Golf, which will bring worldwide attention to the natural motion footwear category that ECCO has pioneered.”
BIOM Golf is a convention-breaking shoe that follows the foot’s natural system for absorbing impact to enhance stability while strengthening muscles in the feet and lower legs. It features a game-enhancing swing platform that brings men and women closer to the playing surface, improving ground feel and traction.
ECCO golf shoes are also worn in competition by scores of international Tour stars, including Fred Couples, Thomas Bjorn, Aaron Baddeley, Stuart Appleby, Bradley Dredge, Jennifer Johnson, Iben Tinning, Linda Wessberg and many others.
