PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (September 29, 2010) – After four-and-a-half years on the air and a number of national awards, the GolfTalk Live radio show is about to notch another milestone in its history. The Saturday, October 2 show will come from Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa in Bermuda.
The show actually will take place during a lavish Happy Hour celebration at the resort on Friday afternoon, October 1. The Happy Hour will be co-sponsored by Gosling’s Rum. As has been the case in a number of previous shows from special locations, the show will be recorded live on Friday, then aired at the normal time – 7 to 8 a.m. on Saturday morning on WNTP 990-AM in Philadelphia and on the website at www.wntp.com.
“It should be a very spirited show, especially since the Ryder Cup Matches will be taking place throughout the weekend in Wales,” said Tucker’s Point director of golf Jason Epstein, referring to GolfTalk Live’s invasion of the very British Bermuda, during a weekend of international competition. “Our members actually are very much looking forward to the visit.”
Tucker’s Point is a luxury resort and spa that graces 200 acres of the most magnificent waterfront in Bermuda. It is Bermuda’s first all-new resort in almost four decades.
Adjoining the resort is the magnificent Tucker’s Point Golf Club. Originally designed in 1932 by Charles Banks, it was completely redesigned in 2002 by Roger Rulewich, former chief designer for Robert Trent Jones.
To make the golf experience even better, guests at Tuckers Point receive playing privileges at the renowned Mid Ocean Club, consistently ranked among the top 100 golf courses in the world. Mid Ocean was designed in 1921 by Charles Blair Macdonald and enhanced in 1953 by Robert Trent Jones.
Guests on this special out-of-the-country GolfTalk Live show will include Dr. Ewart Brown, Premier of Bermuda; Jason Epstein, Tucker’s Point Director of Golf and Brian Young, Tucker’s Point General Manager. There also will be a discussion of the upcoming Grand Slam of Golf that will be hosted in Bermuda.
“Aside from making our first trip out of the country, we will achieve another first during this visit,” said GolfTalk Live host Tony Leodora. “This is the first time I’ve ever interviewed the leader of a country. I’ll have to be on my best behavior.”
Leodora will be doing double-duty during his trip to Bermuda. He will be assisting in gathering video and interviews for a future Inside Golf television show on Comcast SportsNet. The show will begin airing for one week on Sunday, October 17.
