Percentage of sales donated to fund clinical and genetic research worldwide
CHICAGO, October 4, 2010 – As Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities begin, Wilson Golf, the Chicago-based company whose irons have captured more Major Championship titles than any other golf club manufacturer – 61 – today announced it will once again support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation by donating one percent of sales of its Hope line of premium women’s golf equipment to support clinical and genetic research worldwide. This marks the 12th consecutive year Wilson Golf has partnered with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
“Through our Hope line, we are pleased to support such a meaningful and dedicated organization as The Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” said Tim Clarke, general manager of Wilson Golf. “The Hope line provides our customers with premium women’s golf products and a way that they too can support the organization.”
In 2004, Wilson expanded its partnership with BCRF by launching Hope, a line of sporting goods created exclusively for women. The Hope line of premium women’s golf equipment currently consists of the Hope Premium box set, cart bags, golf ball, glove, putter and wedge. Plus, Hope golf balls will be available in an 18-ball eco-pouch along with the standard 12-pack and six-pack in clear, pink and hot pink.
All Hope equipment is available throughout the year.
For 2011, the Hope line product packaging has been updated with a new, fresh look which highlights the pink ribbon – the premier symbol of breast cancer awareness. A darker color scheme conveys a richer feel highlighting the ribbon and communicating that Wilson is a brand with a purpose.
Wilson Sporting Goods Co. donates a minimum of $100,000 annually to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the purchase of Wilson products. To date, the company has donated more than $2 million to the organization. Wilson is the Official Sporting Goods Equipment Sponsor of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
