60-foot birdie putt on 16th hole helps tourney winner seal fourth PGA Tour victory

NORCROSS, Ga. – Solid Golf, makers of THE KURE congratulates staff member Mike Shannon on his student Heath Slocum winning the inaugural McGladrey Classic at the Seaside Course in Sea Island, Ga.

“I’m very proud to have Heath win our inaugural McGladrey Classic tournament,” said Mike Shannon, PGA Teaching Professional and Putting Instructor at Sea Island Golf Learning Center. “Heath has been using THE KURE (Your Total Putting Solution) and his putting stats have proved its value. Anytime I’m not able to work with him here at Sea Island, he practices with THE KURE, both on the road and at home. It lets him know immediately if he is having any aim or alignment problems,” added Shannon, Putting Instructor to 20 Top Golfers in the World.

During the final round of the McGladrey Classic, with the lead slipping away, Slocum was faced with 60-foot putt on the 16th hole. He drained the putt for birdie giving him a two-shot lead en route to a one-stroke victory; his fourth win on the PGA Tour.

“More and more of the top players on the PGA Tour are relying on THE KURE to help fine-tune their putting,” said Bill Henwood, President of Solid Golf. “In fact Mike is also the instructor of the #1 player in Putts Per Green in Regulation on the PGA Tour. Through 89 rounds this season, he has the best average of 27.97 putts per round. He also leads the Tour in putting average at 1.710. When he is not working with Mike at Sea Island, he practices with THE KURE to address any of his alignment problems.”

THE KURE is a lightweight, portable electronic training device that provides the four key fundamentals of great putting: aim, alignment, returning the putter face to square at impact and a great rhythm. It helps train golfers to make straight and consistent putts and provides them with instant feedback.

THE KURE works on any style of putter, indoors or out and helps golfers of all ages and skill levels. Using Solid Golf’s patented Active Telemetry Technology™ on the transmitter and the receiver, THE KURE’s internal computers provide visual feedback to confirm when your putting stroke is correct. Once learned, this information can be recalled and repeated effortlessly, time and time again — leading to more holed putts and lower golf scores.

THE KURE retails for $199 and comes complete with transmitter, receiver, instruction manual, hard shell traveling case and a bonus instructional DVD featuring six-time PGA Tour major champion and CBS golf analyst Nick Faldo and Mike Shannon.
