Longtime ING member will serve as national sales manager, handling new accounts for 21-year-old, non-profit networking organization
LAKE MARY, FL – Golf industry veteran Andy Mears has been named National Sales Manager of the International Network of Golf.
Mears, current chairman of the ING Membership Committee, will focus on new sponsorship sales for the 21st Annual ING Spring Conference, set for Innisbrook Resort May 22-26, 2011. Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort located just north of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area, is home to the PGA Tour’s Transitions Championship every March.
ING celebrated its 20th Anniversary this past May with a rousing conference at historic Pinehurst Resort, host of the U.S. Open in 1999 and 2005.
Mears is a 21-year member of the PGA of America, a 10-year member of ING, and an elected member of the ING Advisory Board.
“The companies with whom I have worked have certainly benefited from the networking opportunity ING provides, so I am looking forward to contributing back to ING,” said Mears, who is based in Kalamazoo, MI.
Mears will also be attempting to secure sponsors for ClubING, the ING Hospitality Room at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando Jan. 27-29.
“Andy has been a respected member of the golf business community for many years, and we are thrilled to have him on our team,” said Mike Jamison, ING Executive Director. “He has always been a strong advocate of ING. Now he officially will be representing the organization.”
Approximately 175 people are expected at ING Spring Conference at Innisbrook. The four-day conference is full of educational events, networking opportunities, product displays and tests, and lots of golf. The very popular ING One-On-One Appointment Show will return to the itinerary. The appointment show provides attendees a platform for private meetings to encourage business relationships. Also on the diverse ING itinerary will be workshops, speakers, the Demo Lab, the Food For Thought Breakfast, and the much more.
