True Temper Aces This Week’s PGA and European Tour Events

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Consistency and accuracy are benchmarks for high-performance shafts, and True Temper Sports continues to set the industry standard. This weekend, Dynamic Gold shafts delivered the victory at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open on the PGA Tour and the company’s Project X shafts landed the Castello Masters on the European Tour.

The Shriners champion played Dynamic Gold in his irons and the new DG Spinner wedge shaft to make PGA TOUR history by winning a three-way playoff by acing the fourth extra hole. All of the Top Five players at the event also played shaft by True Temper, while True Temper led the entire event field with 113 sets in play.

Meanwhile, this weekend’s champion at the Castello Masters made European Tour history as the youngest winner (17 years, 188 days). Despite his age, he displayed wisdom beyond his years by playing Project X graphite shafts in his driver, 3-wood and hybrid, and Project X in his irons.

“True Temper has had an amazing season – 41 wins on the PGA Tour, victories at all four Majors, plus the Ryder Cup – and the popularity of our shafts continues to grow among players of all skill levels,” says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “In fact, thanks to Project X graphite, True Temper led the driver shaft count on the European Tour this week and won the overall wood count for the second week running.”

Featuring a high-flex, tour weight design, Dynamic Gold shafts are the top-selling shaft in golf and are preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. The new DG Spinner increases ball spin during those all important wedge and approach shots for greater stopping power on the green. Project X graphite reduces spin by up to 500 RPM compared to other low-spin Tour model shafts by combining a stable butt section with a constant taper bend profile and by reinforcing the tip with two additional wraps of super high-modulus graphite.
