Former Senior Executive at Persol, K-2, Revo, Spy Optic to Oversee Product Development
(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Scheyden Precision Eyewear – the luxury market leader in lenses and frames for aviation, golf, fishing and yachting – announces a partnership with renowned eyewear and optics designer Patrick Hussey, who will oversee product development beginning with the brand’s 2011 collection.
Hussey’s more than 20 years of industry experience includes serving as President of Persol North America, developing a patented, integrated goggle/helmet system for K2, and holding key management positions for Vuarnet-France and Revo. He also co-founded the action sports eyewear brands Spy Optic and V2 Optic.
In 2005, Hussey formed the Azzurra Concepts consultancy focused on providing a wide array of design, development, branding and sourcing services to the premium optic, sport, entertainment and military/tactical industries.
“Our sales have grown exponentially as active individuals have come to admire and appreciate the craftsmanship and quality inherent to each of our glasses,” says Jeff Herold, company founder and a private instrument-rated pilot. “The timing was right to formally partner with Patrick, who has an incredible pedigree, including his previous work designing our highly popular Panorama Composite Hybrid.”
Ideal for precision activities, Scheyden’s diverse product range offers supreme functionality and superb sun protection. The company’s complete product line includes the Composite Hybrids, titanium-frame Fixed Gear collection, Classic FlipUp styles and Dual RX designs for prescription users.
A favorite of military, commercial, private and aerobatic pilots – including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and Redbull Air Race star Pete McLeod – the evolutionary sunglasses are also the choice of professional golfers on the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours, as well as fishermen and car enthusiasts.
Retailing from $259 to $445, Scheyden Precision Eyewear is available at better commercial aviation and custom eyewear retailers.
