RIP Technology™ features lower torque, increased tip stability & better tip stiffness control
POWAY, Calif. – Powered by Aldila’s RIP® LD Brennen Traux captured the 2010 American Long Drivers Association (ALDA) California State Championship Oct. 24 in Corona, Calif. Blistering a 365-yard drive in the finals, he out drove Pat Dempsey by 25 yards to capture his third ALDA event this year.
Truax has won three ALDA events and one independent event so far this year. He captured three of the wins since switching to Aldila’s RIP® LD just two months ago.
“For me it’s all about the ball flight and results … that’s what the RIP delivers,” said the 22-year-old Aldila customer service representative. “The RIP LD helps provide a much lower spin and gives you much better ball flight. It’s lower launch angle helps carry the ball a lot farther than traditional shafts I have used.”
The longest ball the 6-foot 3-inch, 275-pound Minnesota native has hit in competition is 424 yards.
“It’s all about the conditions in competition,” he said. “Just like the game of golf, there are so many variables like wind and humidity that affect the distance of your drives.”
Aldila’s RIP LD is a longer version of the original RIP with an optimized tip section for the additional bending forces created by the higher club head speeds of long drivers. The standard RIP, which has multiple wins on the PGA Tour features lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control.
The RIP employs patent-pending technology and exclusive materials to completely transform shaft design from the inside. Through the use of computer modeling technology and exclusive materials provided by the Aldila Materials Division, Aldila engineers were able to completely rethink golf shaft design and performance. The result is a revolutionary shaft with optimum flex and torque characteristics with incredible feel.
Aldila has the unique ability to fuse high-end design with cutting edge technology. They are continually on the leading edge of the golf world through their relentless pursuit of the next best innovation. They do the experimenting so you don’t have to. Pushing success to the edge and redefining how power should feel. Are you playing Aldila, or just graphite?
