Stacy Lewis certainly knows the importance of accuracy off the tee. The 25-year-old Texan recently signed on to endorse the IQPLUS Golf Bar, which has been clinically proven to improve accuracy off the tee by as much as 20 percent.
While Lewis considers herself a well-rounded player, she says that her accuracy is one of the most crucial parts of her game, adding that she should not be the only one who values ripping it down the middle of the fairway.
“It is extremely important to my game and it should be important to everyone’s game. If you are accurate off the tee, you give yourself a chance to hit the green in regulation and score well,” the 2007 Golf Digest Amateur of the Year said. “If you are off of the fairway you could be blocked and have to lay up or you could have trouble getting out of the rough.”
In a trial study of golfers with handicaps between 19 and 36, researchers found that after six weeks, the participants who ate the IQPLUS Golf Bar exhibited increased accuracy compared to those who ate an ordinary carbohydrate-protein bar. The key lies in phosphatidylserine (PS), a nutrient found in soy. However, PS must be correctly combined with carbohydrates and protein to get the desired effect.
While eating IQPLUS Golf Bars has been shown to improve accuracy, there are many other ways to improve one’s game. Lewis makes a point of following a regular practice routine before each round.
“My practice routine includes short game work, putting, spending time of the driving range and working on specific shots that may arise in future events. I put in a lot of time to be prepared,” Lewis said. “And practice makes perfect.”
Focusing on proper golf nutrition before, during and after around can results in more energy and a lower score as well. Additionally, staying in shape and exercising are equally beneficial. Lewis has a no-excuses policy when it comes to fitness and taking care of herself.
“Stacy is one of the most recognizable and popular players on the LPGA Tour. Her success can be attributed to both her talent and passion for the game as well as her dedication to fitness and nutrition,” says Dr. Ralf JÄger, CEO of IQPLUS Foods.
Lewis burst on to the scene as a stand out golfer at the University of Arkansas. As a senior at the school, she was named the SEC Golfer of the Year and finished first in the SEC Championship. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2008, and is currently 18th on the money list.
