The complete results, including results from Divisions II, III and the NAIA, will appear in the November 1 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online:http://www.golfdigest.com/magazine/blogs/campusinsider.
Oklahoma State remains the number one team in the poll, earning 16 of the 18 first-place votes. The Cowboys have won two of their three tournament starts this fall, taking the title at the Ping/Golfweek Preview and the Jack Nicklaus Invitational. Junior Peter Uihlein, the reigning U.S. Amateur champion, leads the team with a 69.78 average.
Florida, Augusta State and Alabama also retain their places in the No. 2, 3 and 4 spots, respectively. UCLA jumps from 12th to fifth, thanks to a second place finish at the Preview.
In addition to UCLA, Auburn (No. 8) and Illinois (No. 9) move into the top-10, after being ranked Nos. 15 and 14, respectively, in the previous coaches’ poll. The Tigers won the Jerry Pate National Invitational and finished second at the Gary Koch and the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate. The Fighting Illini have two victories this fall, winning the Wolf Run Intercollegiate and the DA Weibring Intercollegiate, plus a second-place finish at the Jack Nicklaus.
Four schools move into the top-25: Arkansas (No. 15), California (No. 18), N.C. State (No. 19) and San Diego State (No. 21).
