Golf Industry’s Largest Gathering of Owners, Operators Scheduled Feb. 7-11 in Orlando
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Nov. 3, 2010) – Educational opportunities will expand beyond traditional breakout sessions to the golf course and the exhibit floor at the 2011 NGCOA Annual Conference, Feb. 7-11 in Orlando.
The conference opens on Feb. 7 with an educational track focusing on the “Golf Event and Facility of the Future” at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club. Participating course owners and operators will learn about trends in retailing, fitness and spa programs, technology and finance. Those choosing to play in the 18-hole golf event will enjoy one of Florida’s top courses.
A full day of education is scheduled on Feb. 8, when such subjects as marketing, sales, health care reform, player development, staff training, sustainability and the future of private clubs will be discussed by industry experts.
Opportunities to learn about issues affecting the golf business continue on the exhibit floor of the Golf Industry Show Feb. 9-10 as part of a new educational track being offered alongside exhibits from the industry’s leading manufacturers and service providers. Topics include agronomics, technology, golf facility valuation, architecture, course construction and renovation.
Also new this year is the conference keynote address preceding the opening reception on Feb. 7. Keynoter Michael Tchong, CEO of Ubercool Inc., who has been called “America’s most influential trend spotter,” will help attendees understand how “ubertrends” are reshaping society and illustrate the opportunities they present.
Golf Channel analyst Charlie Rymer will emcee the Conference Celebration Dinner on Feb. 9 for NGCOA members, industry leaders, friends and supporters. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the NGCOA’s 2011 Golf Course of the Year and Jemsek Award for Golf Course Excellence.
NGCOA members and non-members can register for the conference at www.ngcoa.org/conference. Registrants receive a $200 discount on on-site registration fees through Dec. 31.
The NGCOA’s Annual Conference runs concurrently with the 2011 Golf Industry Show, Feb. 9-10, at the Orange County Convention Center.
