CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (November 9, 2010) – With recent sales in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, The Netherlands, South Africa and the United Kingdom, “The Business of Golf: What Are You Thinking?,” the recently published book authored by James J. Keegan that focuses on how to maximize the financial return of a golf course, is now available for a Kindle download at GolfConvergence.com (http://www.golfconvergence.com) and Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/bvFcqG).
“Publishing an on-demand version of the book was spurred by customer requests,” said J. J. Keegan, the book’s author and managing principal of Golf Convergence.
Within its first 120 days of being published, “The Business of Golf” is in the top 20 percent of books sold, according to statistics published on Chris Anderson’s blog, The Long Tail (http://bit.ly/b2pnXd).
Since its release this past summer, 26 percent of the books have been sold to golf facilities (daily fee and private), while 16 percent were bought by municipalities, 14 percent by management companies and 14 percent by educational institutions.
“The various audience interest really speaks to the breadth and scope of this book, which is rooted in hard economic data, extensive field experience and numerous client case studies,” Keegan said. “Using the Golf Convergence WIN™ formula, the book reveals the eight key concepts that accurately predict the success of a golf course.”
Earlier this month, it was announced that “The Business of Golf” had been incorporated into the curriculum of a PGA Golf Management course for the fall semester at Clemson University.
