Payne Stewart Golf Club and John Daly’s Murder Rock Golf and Country Club
garner ‘Best-Of’ Acclaim from National Magazine
(BRANSON, MO) – The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB (Branson) today announces that two of the golf courses in its superlative destination collection were named “Golfweek’s Best New Courses 2010”.
Payne Stewart Golf Club (designed by Chuck Smith) and John Daly’s Murder Rock Golf and Country Club were honored by hundreds of “Golfweek’s Best” raters, who visited and reviewed courses around the United States. They examined courses for their overall strength of routing, feature shaping, natural setting, greens, hole variety and memorability, conditioning maintenance, landscape management and other factors.
“This distinction for Payne Stewart and Murder Rock underscores the new, top-quality options and values available in Branson’s golf destination,” says Ross Summers, President/CEO, Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB.
Designed by Landmark Land Company Inc., the 18-hole, championship course at John Daly’s Murder Rock Golf and Country Club highlights its magnificent Ozark Mountains landscape, incorporating the undulating terrain and vistas which accent its natural beauty.
Deceptive, lightning-fast greens and an astounding, full-service clubhouse perched atop the property’s highest point – looking out over the lush, forested Ozarks – complement the exceptional golf experience, which is near the new Branson Airport.
Payne Stewart Golf Club is a unique concept course dedicated to the life and legacy of Missouri’s own, Payne Stewart. This scintillating course takes golfers through a series of memories, with each hole defining one of Stewart’s traits of style, character good humor and high ideals and experiences on the PGA Tour.
Beside an enthralling golf challenge, Payne Stewart’s clubhouse – complete with finely appointed locker rooms, fitness facility and other amenities – showcases memorabilia from Stewart’s major-championship and Ryder Cup-winning career. From his trademark outfits and golf shoes to pictures and paintings of him with family and peers, the museum-like, cathedral-ceiling main entryway of the clubhouse is an elegant, inspiring shrine.
A portion of revenue from merchandise and real estate lot sales goes to the Payne Stewart Foundation.
