(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – AB Golf Designs – the market leader for attention-grabbing specialty head covers and accessories – confirms that the winner of the LPGA Tour Championship and the Player of the Year honoree each used the company’s head covers in competition throughout the 2010 season.

Relying on the brand’s “Happy Horse” model and a custom-designed McDonald’s French Fry Box, respectively, the players recorded more than $2 million in combined earnings and finished the year among the top-25 in the Rolex Rankings.

“We continue to establish ourselves as the industry leader in attractively-priced novelty and classic head covers,” says co-owner Chip Burley. “Available in a variety of styles, our fun and quirky designs give players the opportunity to display their colorful personalities on the course.”

The company recently launched the innovative and eco-friendly Throwback collection. Retailing from $24-$28 for individual pieces, these classic striped knit stockings with pom-pom tops look and feel like wool yet are crafted from polyester fibers made from recycled plastic bottles. This manufacturing process helps diminish dependence on oil and minimize waste, in turn limiting toxic emissions from incinerators and reducing air, water and soil contamination.

The Throwback collection also comes in three-piece and four-piece sets priced at $75 and $90, respectively.

AB Golf Designs is well established as the top provider of custom head covers for leading corporations nationwide. Recent designs include a rock hopper penguin for Allianz Insurance, a gecko for Geico Insurance, a bottoms-up peacock for NBC and a “blizzard” for Dairy Queen. The company has also produced a “Sparky” mascot for Arizona State University and Sooner mascot for the University of Oklahoma.

Used in competition by scores of leading professionals, including LPGA Tour stars Christina Kim, Yani Tseng and Maria Hjorth, AB Golf Designs’ products are available at better golf retailers throughout North America, online at the company website, via amazon.com and through distributor agreements in the U.K., EU and Asia-Pacific regions.
