In this season of gift-giving, the writers at golf’s leading website offer presents to themselves-and give back to the game they love
PORTLAND, Ore., December 14, 2010 – What would you do with $10,000 to spend on your favorite activity? That is the question we asked writers at The A Position, the leading golf-and-travel website. Much like Santa, their responses cover the world.
In the end-of-year edition of “The A List,” a monthly compendium of expert golf information and opinion, a dozen of the site’s regulars-including the golden-throated Sirius/XM Radio talk-show host Peter Kessler-find ways to bring joy to others and also to themselves.
Many of the writers’ 10K dreams involve the ultimate golf trip to the game’s greatest destinations from New Zealand to South Africa to Arizona, and to golf’s birthplace, Scotland. Others would spend the imaginary cash on pro-am spots, photographic instruction and golf equipment.
But several very purposefully share the wealth, balancing expenses so they can bring along a favorite partner or foursome, or donating their pennies from heaven to programs that support juniors, caddies, underprivileged youth, and golf in developing countries.
Grand ideas all for spending 10 grand they don’t actually have. But golf has always been about dreaming.
