SAN DIEGO, CA. – Heritage Golf Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris O’Brien as Executive Chef of Polo Golf & Country Club. Polo Golf & Country Club is a private country club featuring unrivaled golf and uncompromising service. Designed by award-winning architect Joe Lee, Polo Golf & Country Club features an 18-hole championship golf course that winds through one hundred acres of tree-lined fairways and gently rolling greens.
“We are proud to welcome Chris O’Brien as Executive Chef at Polo Golf & Country Club,” said Dan Moscar, General Manager of Polo Golf & Country Club. “His proven track record and culinary experiences will prove invaluable as we continually strive to bring our Members and guests unrivaled golf and uncompromising service.”
Since 1988, Polo Golf & Country Club has been the place where Members have found a sense of belonging. Set in a beautiful wooded area of Northern Atlanta, Polo Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole golf course designed by award-winning architect Joe Lee.
Polo Golf & Country Club was created in a traditional, classical style, preferred by the USGA for major championships. With tee options ranging from 5,100 to 6,800 yards, this championship golf course features water hazards on most of its holes and offers large greens that are fast and full of subtle breaks. Before embarking on a challenging round of golf, Members and guests hone their skills on the renovated practice area that offers a large practice tee as well as a complete short game practice area.
O’Brien was trained at The Culinary Institute of America after a short stint with the United States Marine Corps. He began his career in New York City working in two of the most revered French restaurants at the time. He went on to develop his banquet and American cuisine skills as sous-chef at The ’21’ Club of New York.
O’Brien relocated to Marietta and took his first Executive Chef position at The 1848 House, a restored antebellum mansion serving exquisite Southern fare. Several years later, he became the corporate Executive Chef for Le Petit Bistro. O’Brien then opened his own catering company and worked diligently for six years before deciding to return to the corporate world where he then worked with the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta and moved on to serve as the Head Chef at The Sun Trust Club.
