When Terry discovered that hockey players in Canada were using feminine products in their helmets, she cut a panty liner in a shape to fit her golf visor and gave it a try. When it worked, she knew she had found a great way to keep sweat from dripping into her eyes and to keep all of her headwear clean. She could prevent the stains and accumulated soil from ruining visors, hats, caps, and helmets. The US Military would no longer need to tie bandannas under their helmets to keep sweat out of their eyes. Surgeons can keep sweat out of their eyes during operations. Sweat would be one less thing for the golfer to worry about.
Months of research and development included testing the adhesive in 130 degree ovens to ensure that the self-adhesive liner would stay in place during use and during extreme temperatures. The liners were also tested in freezers for extreme cold. These tests ensured that no sticky residue would be left behind on the permanent headwear band when the disposable liner was removed. Exhaustive research was necessary to find a super absorbent core that was 100% biodegradable, cotton, soft and comfortable, thin, and wouldn’t swell when it absorbed perspiration. The final product meets high standards. The absorbent core is currently used in medical supply products, is FDA approved, and is used as an absorbent under meats in food trays in grocery stores.
Terry retired early from a 21 year successful career as a teacher, school administrator, program director and author. When her oldest son expressed an interest in becoming a touring golf professional, she tried to return to work to help him financially. While she began to job search, she recalled an idea she had wanted to pursue for several years. After research with a patent attorney, the idea was massaged until it culminated into the superior and unique BandZorb liner product available now for the New Year.
While manufacturing the liners in China might have cost less, it is company policy that supporting our American economy is a priority. BandZorb has confidently manufactured and distributed a superior product at a good price point in the United States. BandZorb is proud that it creates more jobs for Americans while offering a great product at a reasonable price.
The market for the liners that come in two sizes includes: team sports, recreational sports, marching bands, all military branches, fast food restaurant employees, municipal employees, medical staff, hard-hat employees, cyclists, hockey players, gardening enthusiasts, lawn maintenance attendants, and cap collectors for baseball, football, hockey, virtually all people involved in activity that requires wearing visors, hats, caps, or helmets.
