Brand’s OptiShot infrared simulator recognized as realistic, fun, accurate
(TRAVERSE CITY, MI) — Dancin’ Dogg Golf — maker of the OptiShot Infrared Simulator, the ultimate in-home virtual golf system — confirms it was named the top brand in the “Research & Development” category, and was nominated for “Company of the Year” in ScoreGolf magazine’s 2010 “Business & Equipment Awards.”
These recognitions add to a banner year for the company, including the addition of several new courses on the OptiShot Infrared Simulator, launch of a Golf Channel infomercial campaign featuring five-time PGA Tour winner Roger Maltbie, and major surge in online, green grass and off-course sales.
“Dancin’ Dogg’s affordable in-home golf simulator distanced itself from an impressive list of nominees in the R&D category in 2010,” wrote Rick Young of ScoreGolf. “Also a strong product of the year nominee, Optishot gets high marks for its easy plug-and-play setup, its indoor versatility, and for amazingly accurate feedback. Best of all: this thing is just stupid fun.”
Other industry leaders selected for the “Research & Development” award include David Leadbetter, Club Car, Sun Mountain and Callaway. Also acknowledged in the “Company of the Year” category were PING, TaylorMade-adidas Golf and Club Glove and the winning brand, Titleist-Footjoy.
‘It’s our goal to provide an extremely life-like playing experience that continually entertains users of all ages and abilities, while also helping them improve their games,” says Brandon Theophilus, CEO of Dancin’ Dogg Golf. “We constantly develop new technologies to make our unique system even better, and this recognition proves that we’re on the right path.”
In contrast to expensive and complicated platforms, OptiShot is remarkably affordable and easy-to-use. Ideal for all ages and abilities, it connects with Windows computers via a plug-and-play interface and requires only 8-½ feet of swing space.
With their own clubs, up to four players per round can compete by hitting real balls, foam balls (provided) or no ball at all. Infrared sensors on a durable swing pad precisely record club-head speed, face angle, swing path, distance, tempo, face contact and ball flight. In addition to complete courses, golfers can, practice and compete on the par-3 option or a realistic driving range. Users can also purchase premium layouts at www.dancindogg.com.
The OptiShot Infrared Simulator is available on the company’s website or at national sporting goods retailers.
