Golf-club rental set rotation program boosts courses’ revenues, improves guests’ experiences

(CEDAR PARK, TX) – Styx Capital – the leading provider of brand-name golf club rental sets to golf courses – will exhibit at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show, booth 2204, January 27-29, in Orlando, Florida.

Hundreds of daily-fee, resort and private courses, including Cabo del Sol, Reynolds Plantation, Poipu Bay and Oakmont, rely on Styx to manage their rental-club fleets of new and current models from Callaway, Cobra, Nike, TaylorMade, Titleist and other leading brands. Courses realize improved revenues and guest experiences from Styx rental club rotation program.

Courses turn to Styx to supply four to 100 rental sets annually. Clubs are swapped for new clubs seasonally, every 12 months for those with year-round play, or upon release of new models featuring the latest-and-greatest technology. Monthly billing aligns with courses’ unique golf seasons to match their cash flows. Additionally, Styx often buys older rental club fleets to facilitate the transition into new equipment.

“The PGA Show is ideal to showcase how courses cost-effectively elevate their rental equipment inventory from ‘good enough’ to best-in-class,” says Jim Williams, CEO of Styx. “With no upfront cost, purchase or consignment commitment, courses typically profit after just one daily rental per month.”

Top-of-line rental clubs provided by Styx allow golfers to try the latest equipment on the course. In turn, they use these rental “demos” to buy same-model clubs from pro shops and play more golf at these courses. New rental clubs also allow courses to better market themselves to travelers and group event coordinators, resulting in more rental turns and increased usage fees.

Added-value services of the rental club rotation program include free return shipping, disposition of existing rental inventories, replacement of missing or damaged equipment, pricing discounts based on volume commitments, pickup of current equipment and rotation into new product each season, and more.
