One of Divots’ first clients in 1976 was Ray Cutright, now Master PGA Professional at Idle Hour Country Club in Macon, GA. Cutright remembers those early days. “I was 25 years old and Bob Friedman gave me credit to purchase merchandise for the golf shop. I think my check was the first one he ever received in early 1977,” says Cutright. 34 Consecutive PGA Shows
Divots celebrates its 35 years in business this month with the launch of an Anniversary Collection of garments and accessories at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, marking the company’s 34th consecutive appearance at the world’s largest gathering of the golf industry.
Divots will unveil a new line of men’s and ladies’ apparel at the Show. The innovative color palette for the 2011 Collection includes garments in Crimson, Royal Blue, Bottle and Chocolate. In addition to offering classically styled golf shirts, Divots will be exhibiting two performance lines called Aero Cool and Div-Dry, plus jackets, windshirts, fleece outerwear, caps, belts, bags and golf towels.
Divots also will use the PGA Show to showcase its longtime prowess for developing Private Label Collections for golf shops around the world. Private Label clients include such prestigious clubs as Harbour Town Golf Club, Bermuda Dunes Country Club, Atlanta Athletic Club and Reynolds Plantation. Divots also creates Private Label Collections for premier golf events, including major championships and many stops on the PGA, Champions and LPGA Tours.
Additionally, a portion of the Divots booth will be reserved to display apparel from Sope Creek, an upscale resortwear company recently acquired by Divots. Sope Creek is one of the leading men’s and women’s lifestyle brands for resort and corporate identity apparel.
