New Club Car branded 8-volt battery features industry-leading warranty
AUGUSTA, GA. (Jan. 11, 2011) – Club Car will introduce enhancements to its Visage Mobile Golf Information System at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show and Golf Industry Show that increase the system’s ability to help course managers address critical revenue and expense needs while improving customer satisfaction.
Visage utilizes a combination of cellular, wireless and Global Positioning System technologies to create what Club Car calls the “new face of customer experience.”
Improvements to the system, which was introduced in 2010, include a vehicle locator feature, a scorecard e-mail service, real-time pin location updates and more control over food-and-beverage orders placed from the golf car.
• Vehicle locator: Utilizing Google Maps, Visage now identifies the specific location of any golf car, whether it is on or off course property. This feature helps operators locate vehicles that have been taken off-site for maintenance or driven off course property by vandals. If a number of cars are in the same location – bunched at a tee box, for example – Visage sorts through all of the vehicle icons at that location and identifies the car in question.
• Scorecard e-mail service: At the end of the round, a message will appear on the Visage screen asking golfers if they want to e-mail a copy of their scorecard to themselves or to the clubhouse. They also can choose to print a copy of the scorecard and pick it up in the clubhouse. Operators can use this information to build their customer e-mail database.
• Real-time pin location updates: Visage software now updates pin locations in real-time so golfers always know exact pin locations, even if they have recently been changed. Previously pin locations were not updated in the Visage system until cars re-entered a hot zone.
• F&B Order Control: Operators can now choose the holes from which customers may view food-and-beverage menus and place orders, helping ensure that their orders are ready when they make the turn and remain warm until they are picked up.
Club Car also plans to introduce a premium 8-volt battery at the PGA Show and GIS . The deep-cycle design provides cycle life and capacity comparable to a heavy-duty 8-volt battery. The new offer comes with a 4-year/25,000 energy unit warranty and Club Car’s Single Point Watering System that makes filling batteries more efficient and adds to the performance and life of lead-acid batteries.
A new steering wheel with a stylized automotive look that has been designed for maximum comfort and handling is among the new model-year features for the Precedent line of golf cars.
