El Segundo, CA – TGA Premier Junior Golf, one of the leading initiatives to grow the game of golf and the only national after-school golf enrichment program in the country, recently honored four of its leading franchise operators by awarding them with the annual TGA Premier Junior Golf “5 E’s for Excellence Awards”. The awards were given at the TGA National Conference recently held in Phoenix, Arizona.
“TGA and its board of directors look forward to honoring our franchises for their continued hard work and commitment both in running a business and impacting the game of golf and TGA’s youth across the country,” said Joshua Jacobs, founder and CEO of TGA Premier Junior Golf. “We are very proud of this years winners and the commitment they have given students across the country in our five-level education program, transitioning the kids to the golf courses, growing the game, as well as building and bettering the TGA brand.”
The 5 E’s are TGA’s culture in how they operate and run their businesses, as well as how they interact and work with the youth in the TGA programs. The 5 E’s include Educate, Embrace, Empower, Enhance, and Engage. The following TGA franchise owners earned the honors this year:
Educate Award – Champ and Jodi Detamore, TGA of Charlotte, NC, earned the Educate Award, which is given to the territory who impacted the most enrichment students over the course of the year. The Detamore’s, who operate one of the largest TGA territories in the country, reached over 2,400 students in 2010.
Embrace Award – Nate Olson – TGA of Greater Salt Lake, earned the Embrace Award, which is given to the territory that transitioned the most students to the golf course from enrichment programs at schools. Olson, who is in his first year, transitioned 280 kids to the golf course through a unique offering for kids aged 4-6, since most area courses do not start junior programs until age 7.
Joe Holiday Empower Award – Champ and Jodi Detamore – TGA of Charlotte, earned their second of the 5’s awards, the Empower Award, which is given to the territory that generates the most revenue during the calendar year. This marks the first time one franchise has earned two awards in the same year. Champ and Jodi, who have been operating their territory for four years, has become the No. 1 TGA territory in the country for revenue. They have had over 12,000 area kids go through their programs during this time.
Michael Jacobs Enhance Award – Mike Riccardi – TGA of Morris County, New Jersey, earned the Enhance Award, which is given to the territory who greatly impacts and develops community relationships through TGA over the course of the year. Riccardi has made a significant impact in his community by donating thousands of dollars in services to his local schools by providing complimentary programs for them, as well as donating his time to local charity events in his community to help benefit his schools.
Lee Warner Engage Award – Dave Robinson, TGA of East Oakland County and TGA of Macomb and Grosse Pointes, MI earned the Engage Award, which is given to the territory who gives back to the TGA organization as a whole, for the benefit of the national organization and the betterment of the brand and the franchises. Robinson, who has been with TGA for three years, earned this honor for his time that he donates on the Franchise Advisory Committee, providing advise and consulting to fellow franchisee’s, as well as dealing with TGA headquarters and other franchises on operational issues.
