TORONTO- Second Skin Garment Company, parent company of the Second Skin and Hollas brands of golf apparel, has added Canadian Matt McQuillan to its PGA Tour staff. McQuillan, the first Canadian in more than a decade to go through all three qualifying stages to receive his PGA Tour card, will wear the company’s Hollas products in 2011.
“As a Canadian company, we are obviously proud of Matt and his accomplishment,” said Don Nichols, founder of Hollas and managing partner of Second Skin Garment Company. “We are looking forward to being a part of his rising career and having him outfitted in our Hollas products. We have a great staff on the Tour and expect a banner year.”
McQuillan, 29, actually left competitive golf for two years before returning in 2009. The Kingston, Ontario native rededicated himself to the game and finished tied for 16th place in the 2010 PGA Tour qualifying tournament. He attended Oklahoma State as a teammate of Hunter Mahan before transferring to the University of Georgia.
“To make it to the PGA Tour is a life-long dream come true and I am pleased to represent Hollas on Tour,” said McQuillan. “Hollas is a staple apparel brand in Canada and I’m glad to be a part of the effort to expand the brand to new markets.”
McQuillan joins Bryce Molder and Jason Bohn as 2011 Hollas staff players on the PGA Tour. Their involvement with the company is part of Second Skin’s effort to grow its sales in the United States.
