HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (January 14, 2010) – Balance-Certified Golf, Inc., (BCG) will debut several new technologies at the 2011 PGA golf show and will have an original Iron Byron swing robot in Booth 1912. For full swing clubs, the breakthrough innovations are based upon recent advances the company has made in reducing shot dispersion with their new Structural Shaft Stabilizer technology. For putting, Balance-Certified has completely redefined and streamlined their fitting process employing new “Low Center of Gravity” (LCG) Shaft Stabilization technology. The entire fitting process can now be easily accomplished in less than five minutes.
BCG has been utilizing Strategic Shaft Technologies’ (SST) original Iron Byron robot to develop their Structural Shaft Stabilizer. Actual robot test results will be on display at the PGA show along with the SST Iron Byron Robot. Balance-Certified’s President, Jeff Lindner explained “Our new Structural Shaft Stabilizer is completely different than any technology currently available in the golf equipment arena. In fact, we have been reluctant to disclose how the system worked until our most recent Patents were granted. Basically, the Structural Shaft Stabilizer strengthens the grip end of the club by structurally coupling the lower region of the shaft’s gripping area with the butt end of the shaft. It functions like a car’s sway bar and significantly improves shot dispersion by reducing swing path deviations that naturally occur during the downswing. Less swing path deviation means that the clubhead travels with improved repeatability along the same path during each and every swing. The robot results confirm this and I am sure that this is going to surprise a lot of folks, but from an engineering and physics perspective, it is really clear. I expect the PGA show to be very interesting this time around.”
BCG Vice President and lead Tour Representative John Cranston added, “We are going to have fun this year. The robot results are really staggering but I am most interested in what our Tour players are going to be able to do with our system. As driver head weight and grip weight comes down, the structural improvement that our new Shaft Stabilizer provides becomes really important. It is simple. Longer, lighter clubs are hard to control. The Structural Shaft Stabilizer improves the accuracy of these new high performance drivers. Of course, it works in standard weight clubs as well. In fact, a 45.5 inch driver with a standard grip measures D-0 in swing weight while the same club equipped with a light weight grip and our Structural Shaft Stabilizer measures D-2.5 in swing weight. That is an INCREASE of 2.5 points! For the first time, we can achieve normal swing weight numbers and at the same time improve the structural properties of a club’s shaft.”
In the exploding world of putter fitting, it is well known that Balance-Certified’s shaft weighting system can improve the repeatability of a player’s stroke. However, most fitters operate their businesses on a tight schedule and have to be responsible when they manage their most precious resource…their time. Michael Cranston, Balance-Certified’s Operations Manager, noted that, “We talked with our club fitters and they consistently told us that they love all the options that our Tour Level fitting kits provide, but they would also like to be able to fit a customer quickly. The bottom line is that they cannot spend an hour fitting every customer on a routine basis. They needed an efficient well engineered system that satisfied their customer’s needs quickly and that is what our new Low Center of Gravity Shaft Stabilization fitting kit does. We engineered our new fitting system to be very intuitive and simple so that fitting can be quickly accomplished with or without computer based analysis techniques.”
Attendees of the PGA show will have the opportunity to test and evaluate clubs equipped with this new technology first hand in Booth 1912. Balance-Certified Golf’s head Tour Representative, John Cranston, will be on hand to answer questions and train fitters on the proper methods used to custom fit this new technology. In addition, BCG will have examples of their pre-packaged systems on display that are tailored for specific clubs.
