SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 17, 2011)-Luxury performance innovator, Iconic™ Sport, (www.iconicsport.com) announces the celebration of its 5th anniversary at the upcoming PGA Merchandise Show with an ongoing commitment to sun safety, and a stellar group of new high fashion styles.
In addition to new items added to Iconic’s Sun protection del Sol line, Mark Wishner, President of the Sun SafeTee® Program will make scheduled appearances in the Iconic™ Sport booth (#4085), on Thursday, January 27, from 1-3 p.m., and Friday the 28th, from 9-11 a.m.
Iconic is a formal sponsor of the Sun SafeTee® Program, a non-profit sun protection and skin cancer awareness program designed specifically for the golf community. “We’ve been delighted to work with Iconic™ Sport” said Wishner. “They’re clearly at the forefront of sun protection, and we’re particularly glad to see their products for junior golfers as well as adults.” Wishner will be available to talk one-on-one about sun safe golf – offering protection tips and incisive product information.
Certainly, sun protection remains as one of Iconic’s key fundamentals. It’s a primary reason Iconic brand ambassador, noted fashion plate and 7-time LPGA winner, Michelle McGann, was first attracted to the line. “I’ve gotten a ton of compliments and really like her stuff,” exclaims McGann. “But one of the biggest things is the built-in sun protection, that’s a major bonus!”
Celebrated golf instructor, David Leadbetter, is also both a customer and a personal consumer of the Iconic del Sol accessories. The Florida-based Leadbetter Golf Academy is an Iconic account, and Leadbetter, whose father passed away from skin cancer, often wears the Iconic sunsleeves.
New additions to the del Sol unisex sun accessories include: a sunglove to protect the back of the hand; the sunsleeve plus, which includes the glove and full sunsleeve combined in one unit; and new thigh-high leg warmers and leg coolers. Similar to leg warmers seen in cycling and other sports – only here, they are cool or warm.
Also new at the show to the core collection will be two long sleeve collared shirts; the new ikat print; and a fleece jacket. Based on the popular princess-seamed Iconic fleece vest, the jacket was a customer request from members at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
