One Company — Fourteen Golf
IRVINE, CA – January 18, 2011 – FOURTEEN GOLF, the worldwide leader in wedge design with over 20 professional tour victories in 2010, announced that the company has been credited with another 2011 tour win, making this their second professional tour victory in the second week of the new year.
Long time FOURTEEN GOLF endorser and Asian Tour Professional Artemio Murakami fired a final day four-under 68 to capture the Philippine Open at the Valley Golf and Country Club. His impressive play included four birdies to finish two shots over his golfing mentor Elmer Salvador who won the event last year. This win means more than just another victory, Murakami made history. He is the first golfing professional to win both the Philippine Amateur and Philippine Open.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “What a way to start the season, two weeks and two wins! We thank Artemio for always supporting the company and for playing the product. Congratulations to him for representing the Philippines and for making history.”
Murakami finished 18 holes without a bogey and played the 2010 Golf Digest “Hot List” TC-910FG Forged Irons, the company’s award winning wedges and the high performance SF-206 Fairway Woods to close a remarkable 11-under 277.
The TC-910FG Forged Irons are a traditionally shaped and features a striking iron head manufactured with soft Forged S20C steel and are slightly offset.
The CG moves progressively higher as the clubs get shorter, creating optimal spin rates for each club. Initially these irons were designed specifically for the professional, so fittingly they look like a “Players Irons.” They are designed with a clean muscle-cavity back iron head that produces a classic forged feel.
Murakami’s wedges, the MT-28 V5 represent a long legacy of winning wedges. Its predecessor, the MT-28 V4 is known on several professional Tours as the “go to club” or the “money maker” and the new MT-28 V5 T.S. Wedge was just honored with the 2011 Golf Digest “Hot List” award. Its exceptional performance has positioned FOURTEEN as the wedge authority.
The classically designed wedge features the signature FOURTEEN “reverse taper design” but has been improved by adding a groove strategically located in between the club sole and blade portion of the wedge. This structural change allowed the engineers to move the CG to a higher more stabilizing position for more precise shots.
“The short game is imperative to winning or scoring well. Artemio played our wedges to set up makeable birdie putts – that is what FOURTEEN GOLF thrives on. Our wedges DO make a difference to players at all levels and we believe that this year, we’ll surpass the 20 victories from last year with the new MT-28 V5 T.S. Wedge,” added Kamoda.
FOURTEEN GOLF is a burgeoning golf equipment company that takes great pride in their tour program. Its success is critical to the company’s overall growth initiative. The feed back they receive from the touring professionals furnish key information for the research and development team as well as provides keen visibility
