Over 480 available single-family lots will surround this course in the picturesque, upscale community in Arrington, Tennessee
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 19th, 2011) – Stillwater at Mystic Ridge (www.LivePlayRelax.com) has closed an agreement with Nicklaus Design, the world’s leading golf course design firm, to design its upscale, daily fee golf course. Bringing in the renowned firm founded by golf legend Jack Nicklaus underscores the commitment to quality of the 18-hole championship course and its surrounding lifestyle, residential community in Arrington, Tenn., the burgeoning town located in Williamson County and less than 30 miles south of Nashville.
The golf course is scheduled to open for play in summer 2011 and will remain a daily fee public course, although annual golf memberships will be offered to lot and home owners.
Among a number of desired amenities at Mystic Ridge Estates, the Stillwater Golf Club will represent the centerpiece to the community and provide players in golf-rich Middle Tennessee an opportunity to play a spectacular course created by Nicklaus Design (www.nicklaus.com), the global leader and a firm with 40 years’ worth of experience and close to 360 courses spread throughout 34 countries.
More than 200 Nicklaus Design courses in the United States are represented in 39 states, with Tennessee home to seven Nicklaus Design layouts, including five public-access courses-all of which were named to GOLF Magazine’s coveted Top 10 You Can Play list the years they opened. That includes the three successful and popular Bear Trace courses that were designed in conjunction with Tennessee State Parks. In addition, the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Ross Creek Landing in Clifton has been ranked by Golfweek as the No. 1 public-access course in Tennessee for eight straight years. The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay has been ranked No. 2 to No. 4 over that same span.
Nicklaus Design’s reputation for creating memorable and challenging public-access courses is evident in the fact the firm has placed at least one course in GOLF Magazine’s annual ranking of the Top 10 You Can Play for 14 straight years, which is the longest active streak by any design firm in the rankings’ history. Since the first Top 10 You Can Play was released in 1990, Nicklaus Design has placed 21 courses, including 14 from 1997-2007.
Nicklaus Design has also been credited worldwide for elevating and enhancing the relationship between golf and luxury home communities. Since independent research began close to 20 years ago, the Nicklaus Design name and brand have added the greatest enhanced value to all measurable aspects of a community, from real estate value to lifestyle amenities.
“The cachet of the Nicklaus Design name and reputation will be a significant asset for Stillwater at Mystic Ridge in attracting golfers, real estate buyers, and will provide a venue for regional and national golf tournaments,” said Scott Scheel, a principal for In Tune Development, the developer of Mystic Ridge.
In addition to adding the Nicklaus Design golf course brand to its project, Stillwater at Mystic Ridge has selected Weitz Golf (www.weitzgolf.com), the largest golf community contractor in the US, to complete the course, clubhouse, and spine and lot infrastructure.
More than Golf, an Active Lifestyle Community
To surround and complement the Nicklaus Design golf course, Stillwater at Mystic Ridge includes 482 single family lots, a 22,000+ square-foot clubhouse, and a variety of natural amenities throughout the community.
