LAKE MARY, FL – Timacuan Golf & Country Club in north Orlando has been selected to host a PGA Pro-Pro Series tournament during the week of the annual PGA Merchandise Show.
The Pro-Pro Series will visit this Ron Garl-designed, Bobby Weed-renovated course on Tuesday, January 25. The Pro-Pro Series is comprised of several events during PGA Show Week, and PGA golf professionals choose a tournament that fits their schedule or course preference. Each event consists of two-man teams. PGA Magazine and PGA Golf Exhibitions are the Series’ sponsors.
“The exposure we receive from the golf professionals who compete is so important to help us spread the word about the golf experience at Timacuan,” said Timacuan Director of Golf Operations, David Moore. “We feel the PGA members from the north can serve as valuable ambassadors for our golf course to their club members who might be looking for a golf vacation destination.”
The course, which is home to the Mike Bender Golf Academy, is located near Interstate 4, just minutes from downtown Orlando. It features a private-club experience at a semi-private facility. Timacuan serves up two diverse nine holes designs, and a well-conditioned course throughout.
