HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (January 21, 2010) – Balance-Certified Golf, Inc., (BCG) and SK FIBER have teamed up to produce the world’s first driver shaft designed specifically to work with Balance-Certified’s Structural Shaft Stabilization Technology. Prototypes of the new “Quantum SS” shaft will be on display next week at the PGA Show in the Balance-Certified Golf’s booth (#1912).
The Quantum SS shaft’s composite layup contains proprietary carbon FIBER distribution and orientation that was specifically designed to work in concert with the structural reinforcement that Balance-Certified’s Structural Shaft Stabilizer generates. The end result is a well balanced shaft that provides optimum swing repeatability and shot consistency.
SK FIBER President Charlie Blume noted, “The guys from Balance-Certified stopped by my shop last summer and shared their robot test results with me and I was shocked. I quizzed them on their test approach and tried to figure out how they might have fudged the data but I found that everything was rock solid. The next natural step was to see if we could get even better performance by designing a shaft to work specifically with their Structural Stabilization technology. That is when we teamed up to design the Quantum SS.”
BCG has been utilizing Strategic Shaft Technologies’ (SST) original Iron Byron robot to develop their Structural Shaft Stabilizer. Balance-Certified’s President, Jeff Lindner, explained, “From our initial robot tests we knew that we could improve performance across the board with ordinary shafts but that was just the beginning. Once we got going with SK FIBER, it became obvious that we could do even better if we re-designed the shaft to specifically take advantage of the strengthening aspects of our new Shaft Stabilizer. We looked at it from a systems engineering perspective and designed everything to work together to provide one major result, swing path repeatability. In the end, this repeatability equates to tighter shot dispersion and that is the best performance advantage of the Quantum SS shaft.”
Attendees of the PGA show will have the opportunity to see the Quantum SS shaft along with the Iron Byron Robot first hand in Booth 1912. Balance-Certified Golf’s head Tour Representative, John Cranston, will be on hand to answer questions and train fitters on the proper methods used to custom fit this new technology. In addition, BCG will debut their new Fast Fitting putter system as well as their wide range of products packaged in formats that work well for off-site professional fitters and green grass facilities.
