Singapore (January 25): The Asia Pacific Golf Development Conferences (APGDC), the region’s leading producer of business conferences for the golf industry has released the dates for its main events for 2011.
In making the announcement, the chief executive officer of APGDC, Mike Sebastian said, “We have consolidated our events for 2011 and this is in direct response to requests from various industry quarters to concentrate all of our events within a fixed time frame.”
The 2011 events which include the Asia Pacific Golf Summit, the Golf Course Superintendents of Asia Summit, the PGA of Asia Conference and the Southeast Asia and India Golf Merchandise Show will be staged in the seaside resort city of Pattaya, Thailand from October 31 to November 6.
The event dates are:
• 2011 Asia Pacific Golf Summit incorporating the Asia Pacific Golf Industry Show – October 31 – November 2.
• 2011 Golf Course Superintendents of Asia Summit – November 1- November 2.
• 2011 PGA Conference of Asia – November 4 – November 5.
• 2011 Southeast Asia and India Golf Merchandise Exposition (SEAIGME) – November 3 – November 6 *
( * There is a strong probability that this event may be staged over the duration of one week)
“The consolidation of all of our events will help create a week-long golf business bonanza, and it is our firm belief that this will be good for the industry,” Sebastian explained. According to him, in previous years, the shows were spread out over a number of months and this made it difficult for international delegates who wanted to attend all of the events.
“Our week-long golf extravaganza will kick off with the highly successful Asia Pacific Golf Summit and culminate with SEAIGME,” Sebastian said.
“We hope to work with the city of Pattaya and the golf association of the east coast of Thailand to make SEAIGME 2011 one of the biggest and grandest golf merchandise shows in the region,” declared APGDC president of operations, Georgina Wong.
All of the events for 2011 will be staged at the plush five-star Royal Cliff Beach Resort and the massive, purpose built Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Full details regarding the programme for each event will be announced shortly on the respective event web sites.
