Industry’s leading research firm to release both studies in early spring 2011
ORLANDO, Fla., January 24, 2011 … Golf Datatech, LLC (www.golfdatatech.com), the industry’s leading independent research firm for consumer, trade and retail golf trends and performance, today announced that the Company will unveil the “first-ever” Golf Distance Measuring Device Study, for release in early spring 2011. Additionally, Golf Datatech will be offering a much anticipated “update” to the Company’s Teaching, Training and Instructional Aid Study, which originally debuted in 2004, and was later followed by a 2007 study.
The Golf Distance Measuring Device Study will determine golfers’ opinions and preferences of this fast growing equipment category. The Study delves into responses from more than 1,500 golfers taken from Golf Datatech’s exclusive Serious Golfer Database. The respondents identify the types of measuring device technologies they recognize, which systems they prefer, their usage experience and even their brand preferences. The Study, which will cost $2,500, will measure the popularity of the various devices along with golfers’ preferences for accuracy and ease of use.
“We are excited to debut the Golf Distance Measuring Device Study, as this category has become the fastest growing equipment segment in the industry, since the USGA ruling allowed distance device usage for amateur play,” said Tom Stine, Co-Founder, Golf Datatech. “The past two years have seen a significant increase in the technology advancements, as well as the number of companies producing rangefinder and/or laser devices. There has never been a report on this area of the golf equipment market, and we believe this study will help manufacturers, and retailers alike, better understand how golfers choose their distance device, and why.”
The 2011 Teaching, Training and Instruction Aid Study is the third version of this study which tracks the Serious Golfers’ opinions and attitudes of products designed to enhance their golf instruction. The study covers all forms of golf instruction, from on-site personal instruction to digital formats. This study will cost $595.
