Golf Digest App and Hot List Special Issue Mark Golf Digest’s Debut on iPad
NEW YORK, NY – Golf Digest, the foremost authority on how to play, what to play and where to play golf, today announced the launch of the Golf Digest App, which is available on the App Store exclusively for iPad. The first issue available within the app is the Golf Digest 2011 Hot List Special Issue, which lets users read reviews of all 94 featured clubs, watch video tutorials and product demos, view results from Golf Digest’s club robot tests, and purchase clubs directly from retailers.
The Golf Digest App is available for free from the App Store on iPad or at www.golfdigest.com/app. The 2011 Hot List Special Issue is available for $4.99 through In App Purchase.
“The Hot List Special Issue is life-sized and interactive,” says Golf Digest chairman and editor-in-chief, Jerry Tarde. “Users can see and ‘touch’ all medal winning clubs, listen to drivers being hit, watch balls rise out of a bunker on a cloud of sand, look on as Butch Harmon teaches the game, and listen to stories told by none other than Lee Trevino.”

* An interactive reading experience: With a simple tap of the screen, users can decide what information they want to see about a specific club, including stats, features, and angles of view.

* A “Favorites” feature that lets users store their club profile for immediate access anywhere, anytime.
* Instant shopping through the “Golf Digest Rewards” program.
* Live web links to club manufacturers’ websites.
* Pinch-and-zoom functionality which, for example, lets users see conforming vs. non-conforming wedges up-close.
