PLYMOUTH, IN. (January 24, 2011) – Swan Lake Golf Resort located 30-miuntes south of South Bend, Indiana has hired Andy Mears to the position of Golf Sales Manager.
With today’s announcement Swan Lake Golf Resort has taken a key step in expanding its outside sales effort. Mears will direct a new outside marketing program for both the resort and the United States Golf Academy located on property. The goal is to increase awareness about the resort among groups, associations and individual golfers.
Mears is a PGA professional, who has been a member of the PGA of America since 1989. Originally a club professional, he has maintained his PGA status by working on the corporate side of the golf industry since 1993. Most of that time directing sales, marketing and membership programs in the discount golf niche.
Pat Bayley, Director of Golf and General Manager for Swan Lake Golf Resort, called the move “another in the big steps forward our resort and academy have taken.” He added, “We are in the midst of taking some big steps to grow our business and we felt Andy was the right person to lead the outside sales effort. His standing in the PGA community and his knowledge of the business side of the industry are impressive.” Bayley explained Mears’ efforts will focus on Chicago and Western Michigan, with emphasis on personally reaching out to prospective resort guests to bring new business to the resort.
Mears is also an International Network of Golf member. ING is golf’s premiere networking organization for media and business. Mears currently sits on ING’s Advisory Board, as well as, serving as membership and sponsorship chair.
