Franks wins in a putt-off held Saturday, January 29 at Angel Park Golf Club
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Las Vegas resident, Doug Franks, won out-right ownership of a new 2011 Toyota Prius, courtesy of Desert Toyota, after he outlasted 24 other competitors in a putt-off held at Angel Park Golf Club’s putting course on Saturday, January 29.
“Thanks to Angel Park and Desert Toyota for a great event on a perfect day at a premier golf club,” said Franks. “I didn’t really think I had a chance, but once I made it to the final group, it started to sink it that I can win this thing.”
The field was divided into four six-somes and each group played four holes. Two players from each group were eliminated on the first hole and one player was eliminated on each the second, third and fourth holes. The winners from each group were combined to form the final group. Then, one player was eliminated on each hole, and after the third hole, Franks was crowned as the winner.
“Congratulations to Doug,” said David Bogue, general manager of Angel Park Golf Club. “We’ve been partnering with Desert Toyota for several years now, and seeing the excitement on the winner’s face hasn’t gotten old yet.”
