54-hole stroke play event features Florida State University men’s team, other top programs
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning Fred Couples and Gene Bates designed course owned by The St. Joe Company and managed by Billy Casper Golf – today announces it will host the 2011 Seminole Intercollegiate, March 11-13.
The 54-hole stroke play event will include some of the top programs in men’s college golf, including Florida State University, University of North Texas, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University, Georgia State University, University of Houston, Troy University and Kennesaw State University.
Participants will compete for both individual and team honors, with the latter composed of the total number of strokes taken by five members of each team throughout the course of the tournament.
“Florida State is one of the elite college golf programs in the country and their choice to return to SouthWood for the Seminole Intercollegiate is a testament to the quality of the golf course,” says Beth Murphy, General Manager.
Members of the FSU golf team will hold a clinic for children 14 and under at SouthWood March 9. A volunteer and team dinner will be held at The SouthWood House March 10.
