SAN DIEGO, CA. – Heritage Golf Group is pleased to announce that Vince Villani, President of the member Board of Directors at The Amelia Island Club in Amelia Island, Florida, was recently named among the 20 Top Board Presidents of the Year by The BoardRoom magazine.
The BoardRoom magazine annually recognizes the world’s top private club presidents, captains and chairs as Private Club Presidents of the Year, for their outstanding work, understanding of the industry, and role and responsibilities of the club’s Board of Directors. The award is based on a President’s focus on the leadership responsibilities, the accountability and the management of the board providing a healthy respect for the club’s macro-management.
“Being in the private club business for over 35 years, I have had the pleasure of working with many club Presidents during that time. In my recent experience, I have witnessed the amount of time, dedication, commitment, and professionalism that Mr. Vince Villani has shown,” said Mike Ryan, General Manager of The Amelia Island Club. “All while being incredibly successful, as well as resurrecting and creating the new Amelia Island Equity Club. No one deserves this award more.”
In the past year, Vince Villani led a successful effort to convert a club from one that was owned and operated by a development company into a private member-owned club. He also led the daunting task of making a smooth transition to a new private club that could, and in fact did, take over operations with very few hitches.
The result of the efforts led by Mr. Villani was a successful 97% affirmative vote by the 1,350 Members to convert to a new club. Over the following months, the new private club has flourished and has demonstrated long-term financial sustainability.
Heritage Golf Group, selected by the Club Board of Directors, manages all operations for the newly formed, member-owned Amelia Island Equity Club, Inc., consisting of the Ocean Club and Long Point Golf Club, in Amelia Island, Florida.
