AUGUSTA, GA. (Feb. 3, 2011) – Club Car’s Visage system is helping customers increase revenues, reduce expenses, better manage assets and create a competitive difference at their facilities. At next week’s Golf Industry Show, a golf course owner, director of golf and superintendent will relate their experiences with the new mobile golf information system during presentations at the Club Car booth in Orlando.
Mark Langner, director of agronomy at FarmLinks in Sylacauga, Ala.; Ray Finch, managing partner of Hammock Creek in Palm City, Fla.; and Rob Turner, director of golf at the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club in Orlando, will discuss the issues that led their facilities to purchase Visage and how the system is addressing their needs. The 20-minute presentations are scheduled at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 9 and Thursday Feb.10 at booth number 1353.
Visage, which utilizes a combination of cellular, wireless and Global Positioning System technologies, got off to a strong start in 2010 with 123 courses adding the system to more than 9,000 golf cars in less than nine months.
“We’re very pleased with the response from golf courses in a tough economy,” said Mike Read, Club Car’s director of sales for New Technologies. “The results confirm that courses are willing to invest in solutions that have a direct impact on their business and operations.”
The PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., TPC San Antonio, Bonita Bay West in Bonita Springs, Fla.; Duke University golf Course, Reunion Golf Club in Orlando and Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria, British Columbia, were among the courses purchasing the system in 2010. The majority of Visage sales were to U.S. courses, but 31 facilities outside the U.S. also purchased the system.
Improvements to the system to be announced at the Golf Industry Show include a vehicle locator feature, a scorecard e-mail service, real-time pin location updates and more control over food-and-beverage orders placed from the golf car.
Club Car is also introducing a premium 8-volt battery at the show. The deep-cycle design provides cycle life and capacity comparable to a heavy-duty 8-volt battery. The new offer comes with a 4-year/25,000 energy unit warranty and Club Car’s Single Point Watering System that makes filling batteries more efficient and adds to the performance and life of lead-acid batteries.
A new steering wheel with a stylized automotive look that has been designed for maximum comfort and handling is among the new model-year features for the Precedent line of golf cars.
