Annika Sorenstam to headline golf festival’s newest event
ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2011) – Golfweek’s Transitions Championship Golfest, the newest leg of the popular Golfweek’s Golfest event series, will make its debut Feb. 19-20 at Tampa Bay Downs Golf Practice Facility in Tampa, Fla. With a portion of the proceeds benefiting All Children’s Hospital of St. Petersburg and The Future Champions Golf Tour, Golfweek’s Transitions Championship Golfest is much more than a typical demo day; it is a unique golf festival that not only allows attendees to try and buy golf’s latest and greatest equipment, but also features exciting Main Stage entertainment, including world-renowned golf superstar Annika Sorenstam.
“Annika is such a powerhouse, and we couldn’t be happier that she’s joining us for our debut in Tampa,” said Armand Cimaroli, Golfweek director of events. “Golfest is unique in that it gives golfers the opportunity to test all the hottest equipment on the market, while also enjoying golf entertainment and activities. It really is a one-of-a-kind event.”
Along with all the fun and excitement golfers have come to expect from the popular event series, Golfweek’s Transitions Championship Golfest will feature the Paradise Golf $25,000 Putting Contest, the brand-new Junior Golf Experience and a variety of exclusive on-site retail specials at the PGA Golf Shop.

Golfweek’s Transitions Championship Golfest is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults; children 16 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.Golfest.com or at the gate during the event. Parking is free.
