PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., February 15, 2011 – In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Executive Women’s Golf Association, the EWGA Foundation is publishing “Recipes for Success – On and Off the Course”, a fundraising cookbook with more than 380 recipes – and golf games contributed by EWGA members from across the country and noted friends in the golf industry.
Divided into nine golf-themed sections such as The 19th Hole (Appetizers, Snacks and Beverages), Greens in Regulation (Vegetables) and Casual Water (Seafood), this delicious collection captures the diverse flavor of this nationwide organization. EWGA members, volunteer leaders and award winners share their favorite recipes, regional specialties and quick fix creations to feed a foursome or hungry golf group.
Interspersed are tasty contributions from all facets of golf. Discover Annika’s Bolognese recipe and Kathy Whitworth’s King Ranch Casserole, past PGA of America president M.G. Orender’s Eggplant Parmesan, Rosie Jones’ Grilled Chicken Ala Rosie and Dad’s Barbeque Sauce from EWGA founder Nancy Oliver. Karen Palacios-Jansen offers KPJ’s Back Nine Energy Squares and Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott share their Bouillabaisse recipe, to name a few.
The final section has more than two dozen golf games for “Fun and Profit”. Priced at $19.50, the cookbook will go on sale in April at the EWGA Golfpalooza (formerly known as the EWGA Conference) at Omni’s Amelia Island Plantation Resort on April 13-16. Pre-orders are available through the EWGA’s online store at www.ewga.com
The EWGA Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization formed and supported by the Executive Women’s Golf Association. Its mission is to create and fund education and leadership programs for women of all ages. Initiatives include the ‘Women On Par®’ scholarship program, the development of a golf education curriculum, Drive for Dreams outreach program to ‘give the gift of golf’ and an annual LPGA-USGA Girls Golf charity event. Over the past eight years, EWGA chapters and the EWGA Foundation have donated more than $450,000 to LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, making the EWGA one of the largest single contributors to LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, aside from the USGA.
Since it was founded in 1991 as the Executive Women’s Golf Association, the EWGA has enriched the lives of over 100,000 women connecting them to learn, play, and enjoy golf for business and for fun. EWGA chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers. A welcoming environment, golf education and player development, and organized play programs are part of the many benefits of EWGA membership.
