COLUMBUS, GA, March, 7, 2011 — Roy Nix, Executive Director of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP), the world leader in the advancement of custom clubfitting and clubmaking points out the benefits of member or sponsorship in the AGCP. As the AGCP begins to ramp up for our 6th annual convention we reflect back on our last 6 years and realize that during those 6 years we’ve come a long way in improving the AGCP experience for our for members and for our sponsors.
The AGCP started with a small email list of clubmakers and friends exchanging fitting and building techniques back and forth. When we started the email list we had at-home shops, part time shops and full time retail shops in our mix, and we still do. Our goal then, and still is, was to create a hybrid Master Mind Group as defined by Napoleon Hill in his famous book “Think and Grow Rich”. Everyone in the group has to make an investment and we share information for the betterment of all.
Over the years our membership has grown in each year and again in 2011 we have exceeded our membership for 2010 already at this writing. We are hoping for a banner year in 2011 and we are set to grow our membership far more than in years past.
Many of the goals we set for our first 5 years have been met and exceeded. A few have not been fully achieved yet but we are close and still working on them. All in all in spite of the fact that we have a long way to go to achieve all of our long term goals, there is no better time to be an AGCP member if you are a club maker or club fitter, and there is no better time to be a sponsor of the AGCP. Members and sponsors continue to tell us the RT is their favorite venue during the year. Our members continue to tell us we are the best source of cutting edge information and the most intense learning experience available to clubfitters and clubmakers. AGCP are the proof of their technology and the feedback from members continues to help them improve their products.
We are proud to say that many of our members who were part time when we started have opened retail stores and expanded their operations into successful business ventures. Many of our members have improved their equipment, expanded their shops and moved to larger shops. More importantly they know more, they do more and they earn more now. Some who were struggling on a daily basis when we started are now making very good profit margins and growing in spite of the economy.

The Home page on the AGCP site has articles about custom fitting, custom clubmaking in the center of the page, a column on the left side with all of the different categories and sections on the site, and a column on the right to update the most recent postings on the Forum, most recent Blog post and most recent articles throughout the web site. The Home page has all of our sponsors listed and links to sponsor web sites. We also have pages with member information for locating members all around the world. The AGCP Forum
We are very proud of our new vBulletin Forum pages. The new Forum has 2 sections:
1. A section for Members and Sponsors to communicate about products, fitting, building or to explain products to members or have members ask questions about sponsors products. Sponsors can announce new products to members, upgrades to software and even explain to the entire membership how to best take advantage of their product or software upgrade. Be sure to login on the site each time you visit or you will not see this member and sponsor forum at the top, you will only see the public forum. The key is that if you only see one forum board, you are not logged in.
2. A public section for both members and sponsors to tell the public the advantages of custom fitting and custom club building and to tout the advantages of your particular products. Our Forum gives us an opportunity to advertise to the public and to communicate to the pubic the advantages of Custom Fitting and Custom Building and explain why the best of the AGCP members custom fitted golf clubs are superior to the best of any custom fitted products in the market. We will be featuring videos made at McNix Golf about Custom Fitting and Custom Building on our Members and Sponsors Section of the Forum and possible some for Public consumption. When we do fittings at McNix golf in Columbus, GA and we are recording the video both down the line and face on for use in both learning and teaching more about Custom Fitting and Custom Building. The AGCP Blog
All of us have a story, and all of us want to communicate to the Public why our product or service is superior. The AGCP Blog gives us a chance to tell the Public what we do, how we do it and why our methods and or custom fitted golf clubs are better. Members can advertise their shops, Sponsors can advertise their products. We can all advertise the benefits of custom fitting and custom building. We are going into our busy season at McNix Golf and we are recording video on each fitting we do so we can tell the story of Custom Clubfitting and Custom Club Building and have real documented evidence to support it.
