LAKE MARY, FL – For the eighth consecutive year, the International Network Of Golf Spring Conference will qualify a team to represent the United States in the International Pairs World Finals in Scotland.
The qualifier takes place at the 21st Annual ING Spring Conference May 22-26 at beautiful Innisbrook Resort just north of Tampa, FL.
Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual gathering.
The ING World Qualifier will be conducted Monday afternoon, May 23, at Innisbrook Resort, where the PGA Tour’s Transitions Championship is taking place next week. The winning twosome in the net best ball points format will receive a trip to Cameron House on Loch Lomond, Scotland to compete in October’s International Pairs World Finals against over 30 teams from other countries. The tournament host and the ING cover four nights accommodations, tournament golf, most meals and a portion of the airfare.
The defending champions are Paul Piro of PGA Golf Exhibitions and Jim Smith of the JPSmith Group, who rode a couple of hot putters to victory in 2010 at Pinehurst No. 4. They went on to finish in the top 10 at the World Finals last October. The previous year’s winners were Jim Kahn of Golf Digest Properties and Cody Law of Golf Mesquite Nevada.
There are three other golf competitions at the ING Spring Conference, including the 4th Annual Durland Cup Scramble, played in honor of former ING Golf Committee Chair and retired golf writer Larry Durland.
Innisbrook features four outstanding golf courses. The Copperhead is home of the Transitions, and proves to be one of the more challenging courses on the PGA Tour every year. Equally as tough is the Island Course, host of the annual LPGA Legends Championship. The North and South layouts provide guests with a more resort-friendly golf experience, but are challenging in their own ways.
Now, more than ever, “you gotta be there” at the ING Spring Conference. Still surrounded by a cloudy economic climate, the golf industry has never seen a better time to gather and communicate first-hand about challenges and solutions. And for 21 years, that has been the focus of all ING gatherings.
The ever-popular One-On-One Appointment Show, a series of private meetings between exhibitors and media to open lines of communication, create unique promotional programs, gather story materials and build relationships, headlines the schedule. The Demo Lab, educational sessions led by ActionCOACH, and much more are included in the four-day conference.
Those interested in attending may do so by visiting www.inggolf.com and clicking on Spring Conference. An electronic registration process is available. But remember to do so by March 30 for great savings.
