Golf Magazine's "Travelin' Joe" and The A Position Tell All: Our Worst Golf-Travel Experiences!

March 9, 2011

Golf and travel writers are notoriously spoiled rotten traveling to the world’s top golf destinations. But on rare occasions the trips themselves are what’s rotten.

Portland, Ore. (March 8, 2011) – Ever embark upon a journey where nothing goes right? The writers at The A Position have, too. For the March installment of the “A List,” our overly pampered pathfinders were asked to recall their best worst-trip stories-voyages of vitriol, excruciating excursions, and the like. The writers did not disappoint, even if their trips did.
Joined by special correspondent Joe Passov-who, as travel editor for GOLF Magazine spends more time on the road than an old set of Goodyears-our writers revealed more than a dozen sad tales and horror stories experienced at golf courses, airports, and luxury digs from China to Scotland, the Caribbean to Kauai.
Lost luggage, scurrilous service, torrential downpours, balky backs, thieves, tornadoes, turkeys, and more, The A Position team has faced it all and survived. And yet they are always ready and willing to run for another plane at a moment’s notice.
Yes, it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it. Pull up a rickety, uncomfortable chair, order a stale beer from the surly server, and listen to their tales of woe-and whoa!-at theaposition.com.
The A Position.com is a network of websites featuring the world’s best golf and travel writers. The term “The A Position” refers to the best place a golfer can land his tee shot. On the web, it refers to the site readers will want to land on for great golf and travel journalism.
