Offering a day with the best of the best on the PGA TOUR for charity
(March 8, 2011 – Coral Springs, FL) – Caddy For A Cure, Inc., the unique professional golf opportunity that allows fans to caddy for a day for charity with PGA TOUR players, announces the participation commitment of the reigning #1 and #2 golfers in professional golf – Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood. Kaymer and Westwood join world ranked #3 player, Luke Donald, who kicked off the 2011 year with Caddy For A Cure at the Northern Trust.
Russ Holden, Caddy For A Cure founder and veteran PGA TOUR caddy commented, “It has always been our objective to offer golf fans the best and most unique experiences in professional golf, to let them see it from an insiders’ perspective by bringing them closer to the game and to the players. And while we’ve had most of the world’s best players participate with us before, this is the first time we’ve had the top 3 in the world. Lee Westwood and Luke Donald have been strong supporters and participated with Caddy For A Cure in the past, but this is our first opportunity with newly ranked #1 Martin Kaymer. Every single player who is competing out there today is phenomenal, but it is a real honor to gain the participation of a player like Kaymer who is at the top of his career. Whoever wins these opportunities to spend a day with Kaymer or Westwood is guaranteed to have a day they will never forget.”
Caddy For A Cure offers its caddy opportunities through online auctions found through its website (caddyforacure.com) and eBay auction links. Auction proceeds for these opportunities go to charity and are fully tax deductible as allowed by law. Both auctions for Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood will go live on Friday, June 12th.
The caddy opportunity with Martin Kaymer will be at the Wells Fargo Championship. The Wells Fargo Championship will be played at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte from May 2nd thru May 8th. The caddy date will be on Wednesday, May 4th during the pro am competition round.
The caddy opportunity with Lee Westwood will be at the FedEx St. Jude Classic where he is the reigning champion. The tournament will be held again at the beautiful TPC Southwind in Memphis from June 6th thru June 12th. The caddy date will be on Wednesday, June 8th during the pro am competition round.
The auction winners spend the day with Kaymer or Westwood and their TOUR caddy on the driving range, putting green and golf course, experiencing each shot first-hand and being in the middle of the action of a professional golf event. They will walk shoulder to shoulder among the world’s best players as they prepare to compete in one of the PGA TOUR’s most exciting events.
Caddy For A Cure auction proceeds support the PGA TOUR military initiative, Birdies for the Brave, the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, the PGA TOUR Caddy Assistance Fund and the host site and participating player charities.
