(TORONTO) – Quagmire – the Toronto-based apparel brand founded by two buddies with a passion for golf, surf, skate and street culture – announces the addition of former Women’s British Open champ Karen Stupples, LPGA Tour rookie Gerina Piller and veterans Stephanie Louden and Diana D’Alessio to its staff player roster.
Known for looking and playing great, the four ladies will rock out in competition with hot new looks from Quagmire’s 2011 collections, including the brand’s ColorFusion polos. Those tops – also worn by fellow Quagmire staff players Tag Ridings, Joe Affrunti, Rich Barcelo, Aron Price and Brennan Webb – are made from an insane fabric that changes color at different temperatures.
“Fun is the first word that comes to mind when I think about Karen, Gerina, Stephanie and Diana, and that’s why they’re a perfect fit for Quagmire,” says co-founder Geoff Tait. “Our clothes are geared to perform when it matters, but the designs are carefree and draw a ton of inspiration from what we see when chasing a good time out on the town.”
Recently married to PGA Tour player Martin Piller, the former Gerina Mendoza is young, talented and beautiful. She secured her 2011 LPGA Tour card via a fifth place finish on last year’s Futures Tour money list. She is also known to millions through her role on Golf Channel’s Big Break: Prince Edward Island. Like Louden, she is widely considered among the LPGA’s most attractive players.
Stupples’ 2010 season was highlighted by a T5 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and a top-50 finish on the LPGA Tour money list. Admired for her engaging personality and vibrant Twitter feed, the Englishwoman has captured three career titles, most recently the Wales Ladies Championship of Europe in 2009.
Also an inveterate twitterer, D’Allessio competes on both the LPGA and Ladies European Tour.
Joining ColorFusion tops, other stand-out pieces from the Quagmire collections include retro tie-dye and splatter paint pattern tops, luxe layering items, jackets, hoodies, shorts, dresses, belts and lids. Not to be overlooked is the new Quagmire Kids collection that ensures young whippersnappers look fresh every time they head to school or the links.
Quagmire is the golf apparel of choice for a bevy of A-listers worldwide who embody the brand’s “Not Fit for the Fairway” motto, including celebrity participants in the PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Classic Pro-Am. The company also serves as official apparel supplier to the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy and the International Junior Golf Tour.
