ORLANDO, FL (March 15, 2011) – FlightScope and Holiday Golf International announce the FlightScope Drive Pro, the world’s first indoor-outdoor networked golf simulator – a true revolution. Players can compete simultaneously for great cash and merchandise prizes at any FlightScope Drive Pro installation in the world. New competitions are regularly available. Prize money from all locations is aggregated so that players can win substantial prizes while benefiting their selected charitable organization. Charity chapters such as the Red Cross and American Cancer regard the FlightScope Drive Pro as an exciting new fundraising tool.
Compared to existing simulators, the Drive Pro uses real photos of real courses instead of computer-generated graphics. Skilled gaming, player education and practice opportunities are thus created for each shot.
The Drive Pro has many unique golf play features and functions that make it superior to other golf simulators. It is portable. It can be used both indoor and outdoor. High-resolution photos of actual famous course holes are stunning. Prizes are awarded on shot-making skills and achievements against other competitors. Players from many locations create opportunities to win large cash prizes based on the ten-player leader board. Players are always aware of their position on the leader board either by accessing the game website or via their smart phone. With that knowledge, they can return to try to better their position in case someone else takes their lead.
All competitions are linked. There is a patent pending “Swing for the Green” competition, a special Closest to the Pin, Long Drive and the standard Closest to the Pin which all have their own leader boards. Another linked competition feature is the Tournament play where golfers compete in a 9 or 18 hole stroke play format and the results are shown on leader boards. Finally, a web based linked golf league feature is provided. Leagues are setup and tracked including each golfer’s handicap. Linked Leader boards, results and scores are all available on the web, via computer or smartphone.
The Drive Pro features regular stroke play golf where friends and family can play golf together, using Stroke play, skins scoring, best ball scramble or Stableford scoring.
A unique driving range practice play is also provided. A golfer can practice from 10-yard increments to 250 yards to a green. For long ball practice the golfer hits from a golf hole tee box, trying to land the ball onto the elusive fairway or from a driving range hitting station.
In addition, a golf lesson feature allows golf pros to give golf lessons where the golfer’s swing results are listed shot by shot for comparison and analysis. Video swing capture can be utilized with the lesson session. “Swing numbers” even allow the golf pro to recommend a particular club to help improve a player’s game.
The Drive Pro uses real golf course pictures which give the most clarity, detail, color and perspective available on any golf simulator image. There are 23 real picture golf courses available with more being added. And for the international players, English, Japanese, and Korean languages are currently available with Mandarin Chinese and German coming soon.
