The new Matrix Reign offers “no constraints”
ANAHEIM, Calif. – MATRIX Shafts released their newest line of REIGN shafts at the PGA Show in Orlando. The REIGN shafts are designed with the mindset of essentially having “no constraints.” This approach allows the MATRIX Research &Design team endless freedoms to deliver a premium level, innovative and technologically sound performance-driven shaft, without compromise. The MATRIX REIGN shaft line represents a skunk works approach in which the design engineers create something entirely new or push the envelope of current design trends, because they can.
The game of golf has always been predicated on skill and technique. With cutting-edge technology at the forefront of the golf equipment industry, technology and innovation has become the partner of skill. The foundation of MATRIX Shafts is built upon concepts to revolutionize shaft creation and install “next generation” features today. The MATRIX REIGN will set the bar. To progressively advance and maximize the partnership with skill, technology has no substitute.
At the 2011 Orlando PGA Show, the first MATRIX REIGN model was released. The REIGN III is a “sub-40” gram shaft that provides, for the first time, tour level feel with control and stability in a lightweight package. To produce a shaft in the “30-something” gram category without looseness is a difficult task. Further, to produce it with the properties favored by tour players is a technical marvel. Previous attempts to design shafts of this capacity have been pursued, but the results were never as hoped. With the REIGN, MATRIX was able to manipulate spin and launch parameters and implement their unparalleled level of craftsmanship to a product without peer.
“Our MATRIX Shafts R&D team has always done a terrific job when we ask them to design appropriate structures for specific needs. It’s almost like Christmas to the team for them to turn the tables and present to the rest of the company a product that was created for its own sake. This approach has allowed us to design the REIGN shaft based on emerging technologies and without the usual product definition templates usually employed in our industry. The REIGN line provides us the freedom to build a precision shaft that not only meets the demands of the marketplace, but exceeds them to create a new demand,” said Daniel You, MATRIX Shafts chief of research & design.
MATRIX Shafts plans to release additional shafts into the REIGN line later this year.
