Alpha Gamma Delta presents new philanthropy event with off course golfers network

ORANGE, CALIF. (March 26, 2011) – The Delta Tau chapter of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at Chapman University will be holding a “golf pong” tournament March 26th from 12pm to 6pm, on Chapman’s very own Wilson Football Field. The event, ALPHA GAM TEE OFF, will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the Pediatric Adolescent Diabetes Research and Eduction (PADRE) Foundation.

The event will begin with an inter-greek competition from 12pm to 3pm and will then be open to the public from 3pm to 6pm. Anyone interested in trying their hand at the brand new sport of golf pong or in supporting diabetes research and education is invited to attend the event.

Golf pong was created to combine the well-known sport of golf with the interactive and competitive nature of send and receive, ping pong-like sports to produce a game that is fun for all ages. The Off-Course Golfers Network (OCGN) will be providing the equipment and course design for this first ever full field tournament. What makes this event possible is the almostGOLF ball, a safe lightweight golf ball with tour quality accuracy, created by Robert Peterson, a founder of the OCGN.

Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Gamma Delta was founded in 1904 at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York as a women’s fraternity dedicated to scholarship, leadership and community service. Alpha Gamma Delta has installed over 180 chapters on campuses throughout the United States and Canada with total membership over 150,000. One of the first national women’s groups to establish a Fraternity-wide philanthropy, Alpha Gamma Delta supports diabetes research and education. The Delta Tau chapter at Chapman University is a proud and continuous supporter of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), the Pediatric Adolescent Diabetes Research and Education (PADRE) Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.
