(March 22, 2011 Vista, CA) Fujikura Composites America extends our heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to our colleagues, their families and the people of Japan who have been affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami.
Our utmost concern has been the safety of all team members at our Fujikura Shaft Factory (FSF) and partner companies in the Fukushima region. FSF received minimal damage and no injuries were reported at any Fujikura operations. Unfortunately, we are deeply saddened that some Fujikura employees lost loved ones and some family and friends are still missing.
Fujikura’s number one priority at this time is to support our team members at FSF, our partner companies, suppliers and customers through this situation. Our FSF factory mainly supports our Japanese and Asian business. Because this factory is located within the current evacuation zone, we have transferred all production to another Fujikura shaft factory and a Japanese partner factory. Along with the support of our facility here in the US, we will continue to support all our customers worldwide while Japan recovers from this tragedy.
Fujikura Composites America has arranged for proceeds from every Fujikura branded aftermarket shaft sold in the USA to go to the Red Cross relief and recovery efforts in communities affected by the Tohoku Earthquake. If you would like to donate to this recovery effort, please contact the American Red Cross Japan relief efforts.
