GolfThere.com Sets Sales Record For February

Bookings for 2011 are strong. Second monthly record.

Birmingham, Alabama – GolfThere.com, the consumer-direct division of Fairways Golf Vacations, Inc. (Fairways Golf) closed the first two months of 2011 with the largest jump in year-over-year sales since its founding in 1990, setting January and February sales records. The 81 percent increase in sales in January was topped by a 116% increase in February. The company attributes the sales growth to an overall improving economy and the result of expanded private label agreements with golf course management companies and global marketing alliances with several strategic partners.

The company believes travel agent sales, inbound European wholesale relationships coupled with the private label and marketing alliances, have made a significant positive impact during the first two months of this year. GolfThere.com President and CEO, Alan Hale commented, “GolfThere.com has continued to see strong booking activity compared to the previous few years in our core brands and programs. There is no question that the uptick in sales during January has continued to grow in February. Our sales team and associates are excited about what is shaping up to be a very busy 2011.” GolfThere.com executives expressed confidence that March would show similar results although they view the Middle East turmoil, Japanese tsunami and nuclear incident as a potential reason for concern in the 2nd quarter should events have a stronger global economic impact than is currently being experienced.
